• A 50% deposit will be taken at time of booking. Balance to be paid upon completion of axe throwing session.

• Pricing is $40 per person per 90 minutes (plus tax), and includes all equipment and instruction from a dedicated axe coach (safety, rules, scoring, games, etc).

• You must wear proper foot attire. Shoes must cover the top of the foot and toes!

• All participants must be 8 years or older to throw (Guests ages 8 -17 must be accompanied by parent or guardian at all times).

• Events last 90 minutes Guests are strongly encouraged to arrive 15 minutes prior to their reservation to check-in.

• IN THE EVENT OF A LATE ARRIVAL, YOUR GROUP'S TIME SLOT WILL REMAIN THE SAME. YOU WILL ONLY BE PERMITTED TO THROW UNTIL THE END TIME OF YOUR ORIGINALLY BOOKED TIME SLOT.

• CANCELLATION POLICY - cancellations greater than 7 days in advance are eligible for a full refund or the deposit may be applied to a future booking. Cancellations greater than 72 hours but less than 7 days in advance will have the deposit applied to a future booking. This deposit does not expire. Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to your scheduled session will forfeit the deposit in its entirety and the deposit is non-transferable to a future reservation.

• CHANGING GROUP SIZE - any changes made to the number of attendees in your reservation are subject to the same policies as cancellations. Any changes in group size that result in lessening the number of axe throwing lanes reserved will pay for the minimum number of throwers required for the original amount of lanes reserved, if at least 72 hours notice is not given in email form. Waiver of Liability:

Upon arrival at Elysium, all guests must sign the waiver of liability before participating in any games.

Elysium is an axe-throwing facility that allows customers to participate in axe-throwing games.

Definition – Participant: Any customer or guest on Elysium’s premises, including minors, and including guests who do not actually throw any axes.

Inherent Risks: As with all activities, there are inherent risks of injury at Elysium. Inherent risks are those risks that cannot be eliminated without changing the nature of the activity.

Some risks include, but are not limited to:

General facility risks: slips, falls, or trips due to uneven pavement or flooring, wet, icy, or slippery surfaces, or items left on the floor; falling target and/or construction components.
Human error risks: erratic or negligent actions; failure to follow instructions, inadvertent inattentiveness, incorrect throwing or playing techniques, errors in judgment, failure to adequately train participants, judgment errors in emergency care, and inadequate emergency training of personnel.

Axe throwing risks: being hit by an axe – thrown or held – due to participant or staff inattentiveness, neglect, failure to follow instructions, incorrect throwing or playing techniques, errors in judgment, inadequate training, or purposeful or accidental assault and battery by a participant.

Types of Injury: All participants must understand three categories of injuries that may occur as a result of these inherent risks. The most common are minor injuries, which include but are not limited to hand injuries (splinters, calluses, skin tears, pinches, punctures, and cuts), bruises and scrapes, and muscle strains. Major injuries include but are not limited to, broken bones, joint/ligament/tendon injuries, internal injuries, concussions, back injuries, and eye injuries. Catastrophic injuries, though very rare, include but are not limited to loss of vision or hearing, permanent disabilities, heart attack, stroke, paralysis, or death.

Assumption of Inherent Risks: The signer acknowledges that he/she had read the above warning regarding the nature of activities at Elysium and their associated risks. The Participant affirms that (1) he/she understands the demands of axe throwing at Elysium relative to his/her skill level and health condition; (2) he/she understands the types of injuries that may occur as a result of Elysium’s activities and is not relying on Elysium to list all of the potential associated risks; (3) he/she understands the potential impacts of the risks on his/her well-being, lifestyle, and potential future careers. Participant hereby asserts that his/her participation is voluntary and that he/she knowingly assumes all inherent risk, both known and unknown.

Waiver of Liability for Negligence: In consideration of permission for the Participant to use the Elysium facility and services and participate in Elysium’s activities, today and on all future dates, the Participant, on behalf of himself/herself, and their spouse, heirs, personal representatives, assigns, or others making a claim on behalf of Participant, do hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Elysium, its owners, its event sponsors and advertisers and their respective directors, officers, employees, members, lessors, lessees, volunteers, independent contractors, equipment providers, and agents, (hereafter referred to, collectively, as “Protected Parties”) from liability from any and all claims arising from (1) the NEGLIGENCE of Elysium or other Protected Parties, and (2) the presence of Participant on the premises of Elysium. This Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability also applies to, but is not limited to, any/all claims resulting from the damage to, loss of, or theft of property. Participant releases the Protected Parties and Elysium from any claims and rights that Participant has (1) now against the Protected Parties and Elysium and/or (2) may have in the future against the Protected Parties.
 

Clarifying Causes:

• I understand that if, in spite of the above clause, legal action is brought, the appropriate trial court in Virginia has the sole and exclusive jurisdiction and that only the substantive laws of the State of Virginia shall apply.

• I give Elysium authority to secure help and/or administer emergency first aid, when deemed necessary, and give Elysium authority to secure emergency medical care/transportation and I agree to assume all costs of care and transportation.

• I will inform Elysium of any injury (even minor injuries) prior to leaving the Elysium facility.

• Media Release: Elysium has my permission to use any photographs, images, or likenesses taken of the Participant in its marketing brochures, ads, videos, website or other media.

• I agree to obey all rules and alert the staff to any rules or violations or dangerous behavior of co-participants.

• I understand I am to cease activity immediately and inform staff if I feel any unusual discomfort or serious injury.

• I agree to obey all posted signs and stay out of prohibited areas.

• I acknowledge that Elysium has the authority to end my participation without refund if my participation presents a danger to myself and/or others or if I fail to follow rules or procedures.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF UNDERSTANDING: I, THE PARTICIPANT, HAVE READ THIS ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND WAIVER OR LIABILITY AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS. I UNDERSTAND THAT I AM GIVING SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS THAT MIGHT BELONG TO ME.

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) will help you understand how we collect and use personal information from those who visit our website or make use of our online facilities and services, and what we will and will not do with the information we collect. Terms and Conditions:

Waiver Policy: All participants will be required to sign a waiver prior to participation in any activity at Elysium.
Clothing Policy: Our only clothing requirement is closed-toed shoes for safety purposes.

League Terms and Conditions: League membership is for an 8-week season. No refunds or credit towards future membership for missed league nights within the season. All league members will be required to read and sign the “League Code of Conduct”.

Alcohol Policy: Elysium has a license to serve alcohol. All guests must provide ID before purchasing any alcoholic beverages. If you become intoxicated before, or during your session at Elysium, you will no longer be able to participate.

Elysium Venue Rules:

• No food or drink is to be brought onto the premises, with the exception of birthday cakes.

• No pets are allowed in the venue.

• Anyone under 17 must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times whilst on the premises.

• You must follow the instructions of the venue staff at all times.

 

Smoking Policy: Elysium is a smoke-free venue. Smoking is not permitted in any section of the venue.

Behavior Policy: Elysium is a friendly environment and whilst we encourage you to get competitive with your party, we do not tolerate any form of aggressive or unsafe behavior. Any participant showing aggressive, abusive or otherwise unsafe behavior will be removed from the premises immediately, without refund.
