Elysium is a mythical Viking paradise housing your next axe-throwing adventure. We’re Loudoun’s largest entertainment venue and bar, offering axe games, food and drink, and a great atmosphere.
Elysium welcomes all ages. Children ages 8-11 can throw axes under direct adult supervision until 9 p.m. After 9 p.m., we are ages 18 and up.
Our axe lanes are designed for safety and fun! Your axe-throwing event includes all equipment and instruction from a dedicated axe coach (how-to, safety, rules, scoring, games, etc.) for 60 or 90 minutes of Viking-style competition!
Your event starts at your reservation time. Please arrive 15 minutes early if your crew needs time to sign waivers or get settled.
Pricing
Elysium axe-throwing sessions are available for 60 or 90 minutes. Prices are per guest, not the lane, unless otherwise indicated for larger group events. Six guests per lane max. A 50% deposit is due at booking, with the balance due upon completing your axe-throwing session.

Safety
Elysium is designed for safety. We require all guests to follow the posted rules and limit axe throwing to those 8 and up. Lanes have clearly marked zones for safe viewing and throwing activities. Axes should be placed on their proper stand when not in use. Axes can only be moved to and from each lane by Elysium employees. All guests participating in axe throwing must wear closed-toe shoes.
Our Axe coaches will review safety guidelines before your session and supervise play. Guests who fail to follow safety rules will forfeit their session and be asked to leave.
Because we are an axe-throwing entertainment facility, all guests must complete and sign a Waiver of Liability (once you complete your reservation, you will receive a link to sign a waiver online).
Axe Throwing FAQs
What does an axe-throwing session look like?
Check-in when you arrive, then grab a drink or place an order. We will introduce your axe coach when your entire party has arrived, and we’ve received all waivers.
Each axe-throwing session is approximately 90 minutes long. Your axe coach will first discuss safety, axe-throwing techniques, and the rules of the game. Each guest will be allowed a few practice throws before the games begin!
Following your session, if you and your party wish to stay to enjoy another drink or order something from our food menu, feel free! Also, you might be able to keep throwing if there is no other booking after you; just ask your axe coach!
What size groups can you accommodate?
Lanes can be reserved for 2-6 people. We also offer packages for parties and full-facility rentals. For parties and group events, please contact [email protected] or call 540.619.2225.
Do I need to book in advance? If yes, how much in advance?
We recommend booking 2-3 days in advance, especially for Friday night reservations and weekends. A limited number of walk-ins may be available.
What should I wear?
Our only clothing requirement is closed-toed shoes; however, it is recommended that you wear loose-fitted clothing in order to allow for a full range of movement.
We do carry close-toed shoes for guests who forgot to bring their own, but we cannot guarantee it will suit your size (or style)!
Is axe-throwing child-friendly?
Yes! Children of all ages are allowed in the facility, but only kids 8 and up are allowed to throw under the immediate supervision of an adult.
Is axe-throwing safe?
We are incredibly proud of our safety record! All axe throwing takes place under the direct supervision of our experienced axe coaches. In addition to them, we have numerous protective measures to ensure everyone’s safety.
What is your cancellation policy?
CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations made less than 72 hours before your scheduled session will forfeit the deposit in its entirety. The deposit is non-transferable to a future reservation.
- Cancellations greater than 7 days in advance are eligible for a full refund or the deposit may be applied to a future booking.
- Cancellations greater than 72 hours (3 days) but less than 7 days in advance will have the deposit applied to a future booking. This deposit does not expire.
What if I don’t want to throw?
Elysium is for non-throwers, too. You don’t have to throw to enjoy a visit to Elysium. Come hang out with your friends and enjoy great food and drink at our amazing bar.
Do I need to know how to throw an axe?
No prior axe experience is needed. Many of our guests get the hang of it in a few quick practice throws.
